White Ensign have threaded their way to the Southend Borough Combination Premier Division title - thanks to the goal-scoring efforts of Cotton.
His two-goal show had team-mates reeling with delight as they beat close rivals Shoebury Town 3-2 to keep the championship they won in fine style last year.
The other Premier game played saw Southchurch Hall OS and Newton Hall fight out a 2-2 draw.
Southchurch Hall OS, thanks to a Simms double, are on cue for the Reserve Division crown after their 4-0 win over Earls Hall United.

Division One champions Old Rochfordians turned on the style in beating Waker-ing 8-4 with ace marksman Godfrey bagging a six-goal haul.
Baddeley (2) helped Shoe-bury OB stay on the honours trail with a 5-3 win at Thorpe Athletic, with Day, M Evans and P Ledger completing the tally. Scully was not exactly a good neighbour for Airborne United in Division Two, scoring twice for Heath Sports in a 3-2 win.
Toms was a major success for Flightspares in Division Three. He grabbed a hat-trick as his side buried White Ensign 3rd 7-2.
Melchester Rovers and Glenwood fought out a ten-goal thriller and shared the spoils in Division Four. Zimmerman was in the frame for Melchester with a hat-trick, while Cave got two for Glenwood. Two high-fliers fought out the match in which Leigh Times, thanks to a Davison double, beat Shoebury OB 2nd 4-1.
The Hammond family pulled out all the stops in Division Five as Old Southendian 4th beat Customs and Excise 2nd 7-2. T Hammond scored two and L Hammond one.
Two leading sides fought out a 1-1 draw - Parsons Barn and International PMS.
International were among the goals in Division Six as S Blake's double helped their reserve team win 6-0 at Kings Field Casuals 2nd.
Battlesbridge 3rd beat Southend Collegians 4th by the odd goal in nine with Osbourne getting the biscuit for the winners with a hat-trick.
Gill (3) and Willis (2) were the goal stars as Old Rochfordians 2nd won 5-2 at Wakering 2nd. Ridley, Wallis and Richardson helped leading side Brook Sports to a 3-1 win at Hopes Green.
Stiff killed off the victory hopes of Airborne United 2nd with a hat-trick as Spa beat them 4-1, while Miller was in jolly scoring form for Landwick 2nd, 4-1 winners at their Customs' counterparts.
