A Dutch cyclist died yesterday (Wednesday) when he had a heart attack on the A120 at Ramsey.

He was with a group of about five or six tourists from Holland riding to Harwich.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "He had a heart attack, keeled over, collapsed and died. He was not hit by any other vehicles. It is being treated as a sudden death not a road accident."

The man was taken to Clacton Hospital but was announced dead on arrival.

There were tailbacks after the accident at 10.45am but these were cleared by police.
