Jim and Betty Reeve, of Chelmsford, will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary next Thursday.
Mr Reeve said that he could remember the wedding day as though it was yesterday. He and his wife have three children -- Pauline, Michael and Robert -- seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
"We have been extremely happy all these years," he said. "I think it is important to work together in a marriage to make it successful. We are very close as a family and are looking forward to celebrating our anniversary."
