Essex Police are working with organisations across the county to make sure the V2000 concerts at Hylands Park this weekend go without a hitch.

More than 100,000 fans are expected to come to the festival, which features acts including Travis, Moby, Richard Ashcroft and All Saints.

And police are preparing to organise the huge amount of traffic expected.

For more on V2000 vistit this website: www.v2000chelmsford co.uk Although there is sufficient parking space inside the park and two gates on to the site, there are likely to be long queues and police are advising people to be patient.

Drivers unconnected with the festival are advised to avoid the A1016 and A414 and take other routes around Chelmsford.

A temporary 30mph speed limit will be imposed along sections of the old A1016 and A414 to Writtle from the Widford roundabout as a safety measure due to the high volume of traffic and pedestrians.

There will be strictly enforced parking restrictions in the area.

For those not driving, Great Eastern Railways are laying on extra trains and free buses will operate between the park and Chelmsford town centre at the end of the concert on both nights.

There will be frequent patrols in the car parks but festival goers are advised to use common sense and leave valuables out of sight.

Extensive use will be made of CCTV to combat crimes but any crime on the site may be reported on 01245 269589/491212.
