The Junior European Showjumping Championships were recently held at Hagen North West Germany, and Great Britain were represented by five ponies and riders.
The team comprised of four and one reserve,
Battlesbridge's Hanna Penny, 13, riding Mid West Star was seventh in the individual championship on the Saturday and on the Sunday the team came first and were gold medal winners, followed by Belgium and Holland.
The Great Britain team was Louise Pavitt riding New York Spritzer, Martha Beaumont riding Colton Maelstrom, Hanna Penny riding Mid West Star, and Ernest Connell riding Master Bill.
Eleven countries with 54 ponies competed for the title and despite the appalling weather conditions the Great Britain team was far enough in the lead not to jump its fourth competitor.
