Pitsea will have just What Everybody Wants when its newest shop throws open its doors in time for the festive rush.

It was revealed that the cut-price fashion store will be the latest addition to the shopping attractions in the old Sainsbury's building.

Aldi is already trading from part of the site after opening its doors for business last month.

There had been fears the future for the site looked gloomy when supermarket Sainsbury's quit.

But now the future looks nothing but bright with the expected arrival of What Everybody Wants.

The news comes just after three new shops opened for business in the revamped Co-op building, which is also in the market place. A hairdressers, jewellers and a successful men's clothing company - which moved its market stall into the unit - are looking good and bringing in custom.

Mr Frank Nash, market manager, said: "The new clothing store, for adults and children, will be open in time for Christmas. It is good to see everything is going to plan.

"Pitsea is definitely up and coming now. There is still a way to go but within 12 months everything will be in place.

"The next job is to demolish the stalls and lay out fewer but bigger stalls in a more organised fashion. We are adding lock-up units which will hopefully attract serious retailers as well as the market traders."

Land owner London and Cambridge Properties is still looking for someone to occupy the space above Aldi and What Everyone Wants.
