Two students, who are also brothers, from The Sandon School, Chelmsford, have sailed to success this summer, by returning with two World Cadet Championship medals for Great Britain.
Harry Harris, 12, achieved second place in the World Challenge Fleet Championships held in Gydnia, Poland in his boat Executrix while his brother Toby, 15, was hot on his heels in third place in the same event in his boat Grim Reaper.
It was a 'home' one/two/three as another British competitor took first place.
Harry and Toby live at Burnham-on-Crouch with their parents Roy and Jo, and are members of Corinthian Otters Club.
Headteacher at The Sandon School, Ms Sian Carr, said: "We encourage all of our students to pursue interests outside school and to reach the highest possible standards but rarely do we expect that to include bringing back a silver and a bronze medal for Britain against tough international competition.'
Roy Harris said: ''The whole family are proud of the boys, and following their success in Poland, they competed in the UK national Championships, where their success continued, as Toby finished third overall and Harry ninth overall''.
The Corinthian Club were well to the fore, as six of their boats finished in the top 10.
