St Martins School pupil Emma Camp, 13, has been selected for the England Basketball squad after representing South East England in a national tournament at Lilleshall.
Emma, from Hutton, has also gained selection for the District and Essex under 15 Essex County Basketball squad for the2000/2001 season.
She is a member of the LIV Brentwood Fire Basketball club and was introduced to basketball whilst a pupil at St. Josephs junior school and has been coached ever since by James Potter who runs the club with his wife, Alex.
Emma's parents, Francis and Peter, said: ''We are delighted that Emma has been selected for the England squad.
''She puts a lot of hard work into her basketball training, and her efforts are beginning to bear fruition''.
