Promising youngster Tom English has left Harwich and Parkeston after signing a one-year professional contract with a Singaporean club.

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder, son of the former Colchester United star of the same name, has played his last game for the Royal Oak club.

English, who was on trial at Queens Park Rangers, has been a key player in Harwich's battle for Jewson League premier division survival this season.

Manager Andy Clark said: "It's a big blow for us because Tom has been a very good player and scored a lot of goals."
