A heroin addict who stole two cars was chased at high speed by police, smashing into vehicles and ending up embedded in a traffic bollard, a court heard.
Deborah Sneddon, 29, of Edith Way, Colchester, admitted charges of aggravated vehicle taking by virtue of dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, dangerous driving, damaging a vehicle and having no insurance.
She was placed on a 12 month drug and testing order and banned from driving for two years when she appeared before Norwich magistrates yesterday (Thursday).
Frank Ferguson , prosecuting, said Sneddon was seen driving a stolen Nissan Micra car on Canterbury Way, Thetford, Norfolk.
Magistrates heard police followed the car through Thetford in an unmarked car. Sneddon drove through red lights and collided with a van.
He said the car then crashed into a road traffic bollard. Sneddon ran away, but was arrested.
Nick Ross, mitigating, said Sneddon was addicted to heroin, and had lost her mother and father.
