Southend United's second string clinched their third successive Avon Insurance Combination League victory at Bournemouth on Wednesday.
Following a goalless first-half at Dean Court, the Cherries took the lead just 50 seconds after the restart when frontman Gareth O'Connor fired past Chris Porter from 20-yards.
However, a young Blues side showed great character to fightback and equalise within four minutes, following good work from Danny Pitts.
The midfielder cut inside from the right flank and hit a shot across goal, which cannoned back off the foot of the left-post, for striker Ben Abbey to lash home from 15-yards.
And Southend went one better in the 72nd minute when forward Daniel Webb netted the winner from a perfectly delivered Pitts corner.
Southend: Porter (J Fisher), McSweeney, Wardley, Newman, D Lunan, Williamson, Hunter, Kerrigan, Pitts, Webb, Abbey.
