Golf courses in Essex have been forced to take steps to prevent the spread of foot-and-mouth disease.
The Warren Golf Club, in Maldon, and Burnham Golf Club have laid disinfected straw at entrances while footpaths around the courses have been closed.
Birch Grove, closest to the latest Essex outbreak at Layer De La Haye, have been visited by a Maff representative who advised them the club did not need to take any precautions.
However, Three Rivers Golf Club, at Purleigh, have closed their Jubilee course because there are so many footpaths crossing it. The Kings course remains open.
