A teenage burglar was unsuccessful in his bid to break into a Harold Hill home and fled empty handed.
He did however, cause £300 of damage to the house on Melksham Drive, where he was seen by a neighbour pulling violently at a door on Saturday at 7.40pm.
The neighbour said that when he could not get the door open he fled over a fence and along the A12.
Havering Police are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen him. He is described as white, 15-years-old, of proportionate build, with dark brown cropped hair and wearing dark clothing.
