Detectives have been hunting a thug who brutally attacked a man in the face with a glass bottle.
The 20-year-old victim was left with a five-inch laceration and had to have 30 stitches to his face.
The attack took place on Porters Grange roundabout, at the junction of Southchurch Road, Southend, at around 3am on Saturday. It happened following an argument between the victim and two men over a taxi outside Ali Baba's, Southchurch Road.
