Excited youngsters had a whale of a time when a new holiday club helped beat boredom.
Rascals kids club opened its doors at St Michael's pre-school in Talbot Avenue, Rayleigh.
The non-profit making club, which is run by a committee made up of parents, has received Government funding for its first year.
It is open to children aged between four and 11 and runs until Saturday.
Chairman, Nicolle Bass, said: "Everything went really well. The children enjoyed themselves.
"We started the club because we think there is a real need for holiday child care facilities in Rayleigh."
Organisers are hoping the club will run during the Whitsun school break.
