Police are issuing a warning about leaving power tools in vans overnight following a spate of thefts in Witham.
The thefts took place last night (Thursday) in the Chipping Hill and Powers Hall End areas of the town.
A Ford Transit van belonging to Braintree Council in Barnardiston Way, a Mitsubishi van in Church Street and a Fiat van in Foxglove Close had a number of power tools stolen from them.
A spokesman for Braintree police said today: "Anyone who has power tools lying in their van overnight should consider providing extra security, such as a metal tool box or cage."
