Ever thought of growing your nails? Then Ruth Ward is something of an expert.
Ruth has been growing her nails for the last four years and now they are a chilling eight and a half inches long!
The Southend mum, who also helps run the family auto-electric business, claims everyone is able to have long nails if they persevere.
She said: "The secret is to dip the tips in nail strengthening lotion about three times a week so they don't break but anyone can do it, although mine really started growing after I became a vegetarian."
However, not only does Ruth have to cope with the disapproval of her family, she also has to ward off the attentions of her six cats who see the magnificent nails as a toy to play with and bite.
