The Hadleigh Carport Southend Borough Combination's Easter Tournament was won by Kings Field Casuals.

They triumphed 3-0 over Southend Collegians in the final after just edging through a well-contested Group A on goal average from Shoebury Old Boys. The two sides had the same points and goal difference.

Shoebury finished third, beating Cupids Country Club on goal difference on penalties after the score had stood at 1-1.

Spot-kicks also settled fifth spot with White Ensign seeing off Vulcan Boys after the score finished 2-2.

The Tournament was kicked-off by the Southend Mayor, Councillor Graham Longley, with Vulcan Boys meeting Southend Collegians.

The cup and medals were presented by Combination chairman Len Forge.

Group A - Shoebury OB 3, White Ensign 1; Kings Field 2, Cupids 0; Kings Field 1, Shoebury OB 1; White Ensign 3, Vulcans 0; Kings Field 2, White Ensign 0.

Group B - Collegians 0, Vulcan 0; Collegians 2, Cupids 0; Vulcans 0, Cupids 1; Shoebury 2, Collegians 0.

Matches for final placings: Kings Field (1st) beat Southend Collegians (2nd) 3-0; Shoebury Old Boys (3rd) beat Cupids CC (4th) on penalties after 1-1 draw; White Ensign (5th) beat Vulcan Boys (6th) on penalties after 2-2 draw.

Following inspection of the new changing rooms at the Combination headquarters at Eastwoodbury Lane, the Essex County FA have allocated two Veterans Cup finals for the venue. They will probably be staged on May 2 and 9.
