A NEW youth centre has been given the go ahead - but special equipment may be used to control noise levels.
Plans to turn a former Colchester housing sales office into a youth centre for three years, was given the thumbs up at a meeting of Essex County Council's development control and regulation committee on Friday.
However councillors asked that decibel levels be looked into after residents raised concerns over the amount of noise the youth club, at the junction of Highwoods Approach and Ipswich Road,would create.
