Ipswich Town fans are being kept in suspense over the identity of the Blues' latest transfer target - an international midfielder who plays in Spain.

Boss George Burley revealed yesterday (Thursday) a fee has been agreed with a club in La Liga and terms are being negotiated with the player's agent.

After stressing that his target is not Spanish, he said: "We are a long way down the line in talks with the player, who is an outstanding international."

The fee in question is also a matter of speculation, with figures ranging from £3.5 million to £7 million being mooted by different sources.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Andy Marshall - signed from rivals Norwich - could make his Ipswich debut when the Blues face Vaasan Palloseura tonight (Friday).

The match is the second Town play on their pre-season tour of Finland and Estonia.

James Scowcroft and Alun Armstrong emerged unscathed from training yesterday (Thursday) and appear to have shaken off minor knocks in time to play.

Matt Holland and Hermann Hreidarsson will not feature as they have been granted extended summer breaks because of international commitments earlier this summer.

Town travel to Estonia tomorrow (Saturday) for a clash with Flora Tallinn on Sunday.
