Wanted: brave volunteers to hot-foot it across 20 feet of 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit glowing embers.

That's the challenge from the Colchester-based Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre, which hopes to find 75 people to try the spectacular stunt.

The charity hopes volunteers will step forward to collect sponsorship for the exciting event, which will raise money to help people affected by the debilitating disease MS.

Volunteers will get two hours of intensive training before they face the 20ft strip of wood embers.

A spokesman for the charity said safety is paramount for the spectacular event: "It's not dangerous at all: people go through two hours of training before they do it.

"It's an extremely good way of raising money and it's something people can do that they have never done before."

He said the charity hopes to raise about £10,000 with the fire walk challenge, which will be on October 14 at Colchester Rugby Club.
