Workers facing redundancy at B Braun Medical have a good chance of finding another job, an employment consultant has said.

The advisor was called in after 59 people were told last week they would lose their jobs at the Braintree company.

Judy Rayton, of ICM CareerCare, is now at Braun's Springwood Industrial Estate site to prepare workers for job searching.

Many of the 59 employees at Braun, which makes surgical instruments, have worked there for between ten and 25 years.

Miss Rayton said today (Tuesday) some thought other companies would not want to employ them, but she believed they had valuable skills which were highly marketable.

They include designers of surgical equipment, welders and people who repair faulty equipment.
