Colchester United manager Steve Whitton is looking forward to a mouth-watering Worthington Cup home draw that will have the fans flocking back to Layer Road.
Whitton and his in-form squad pulled off one of the shock first round results last night (Tuesday) and played their way into the hat for the second round draw with a thrilling 2-1 win over star-studded Division One outfit Portsmouth at Fratton Park.
Now he would dearly love a crack at one of the country's "big boys", and a home tie against his schoolboy heroes West Ham United would do just nicely.
Whitton said today (Wednesday), after watching his team continue their cracking 100 per cent start to the new season: "We played some super football on the night and whoever we are pitched against I hope it's a big club at Layer Road.
"The boys deserve something special for the way they went about the job at Portsmouth last night.

"We dominated the first half, but didn't get the goals we deserved and when Portsmouth hauled themselves back into the game with a late rally we regrouped and finished match very positively."
The ecstatic U's boss was particularly delighted by the way Mick Stockwell and Kemal Izzet put away the second-half winning goals.
He said: "The first goal was a cracking header, a stunning effort. It was Micky Stockwell doing what he does best, but the move and the David Gregory cross leading up to it was out of the top drawer as well.
"Kemi's late winner was a just reward for the boys who had quite simply worn down the Pompey defenders throughout the night.
"He found himself in a great spot, but he stayed cool and didn't panic and calmly took the ball round the keeper before planting his shot into the net."
And paying tribute to his entire team Whitton added: "Considering who our opposition was, it was the best we have played so far this season."
