Essex's answer to famous escapologist Houdini is to be featured in a spectacular exhibition.
Retired escapologist Nick Janson, 70, from St John's Road, Hadleigh, has travelled the world performing his spectacular stunts.
One of his most dramatic escapes involved him being handcuffed and locked in a steel bomb which was suspended from a crane.
He had one minute to escape before the bomb went hurtling to the ground causing a massive explosion.
Other exploits included being dangled from a bridge above Sydney Harbour and being dropped from a helicopter in a mailbag, 30 feet above the water.
The daredevil holds the Guinness World Record for the most escapes from police handcuffs - 1,680 times.
Mr Janson, who retired last year, said: "I used to do all the big stunts from hanging upside down in a straight jacket on a burning rope to being dropped from the sky in a mailbag."
Mr Janson is now to be featured in an exhibition of unusual photos of record holders, taken by Drew Gardner.
The exhibition takes place at the AOP Gallery in Leonard Street, London, from October 1 to 20.
