Identical twins Jai and Keya Wilson are making their acting debut in a new daytime television soap.

Jai and Keya Wilson

The 10-year-olds play sisters in the ITV programme Night and Day, which will hit our screens three times a week starting tomorrow, and focuses on six different families in Greenwich.

The girls, of Brooklands, Colchester, are initially on a year's contract and have loved every minute of their hectic filming schedule.

Mum Mandy said they enrolled with a model and theatrical agency with a view to modelling, but then this acting opportunity came up.

"They were very lucky and have been filming since May. They love it."

Jai and Keya are pupils at St James' School in Colchester but while filming have been taking lessons with a tutor on the set.

Stars of Night and Day, which goes out at 5.05pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with an omnibus edition on Thursdays at 10.20pm, are Lysette Anthony, Joe McGann, Lesley Joseph and Gareth Hunt.

It is billed as a hybrid of EastEnders and Twin Peaks and its target audience is young adults.
