Colchester-based Wallis Shipping has just transfered a 40-foot long steel bridge to Dublin from Ely in Cambridgeshire.
The journey - via the A10, A14, M6, M56, Port of Liverpool and Dublin Bay - was one of the firms "most ambitious undertakings yet".
The bridge will be used at a water treatment plant in Dublin.
