Southend Carnival organisers have selected the line-up for this year's Carnival court.
Carnival queen is Charlotte Williams, 17, of Southend, and her courtiers are Amanda Slavara and Shelly-Anne Sipos.
Mike Steptoe, carnival chairman, said: "The selection process was completed in the style of a job interview with a panel of judges."
The court's first duty will be at the formal crowning on Saturday when they take over the reins from the retiring court on Saturday.
The crowning and celebration disco will be at the function suite of the County Hotel, Aviation Way, Southend. Admission is £2.
