A 26-year-old man suffered a black eye and broken cheek after standing up to a group of men bothering his girlfriend during a night out at Edwards bar on French Kier, Chelmsford.
The victim's girlfriend had been making her way to the toilet and was passing a group of about four or five men when one man touched her behind. Her boyfriend stepped in to tell the gang to stay away.
