Salvation Army bosses are confident new plans for expansion in South Woodham Ferrers will be given the green light by planners.
The movement had warned it would have to pull out of the town if it could not develop its hall in Hullbridge Road.
However, leaders are now keen to play down the possibility after lodging a revised application for the hall after the first one was scrapped because of protests from residents.
The new design goes before planners on April 15.
