The Evening Echo has been asked to clarify the changes to charges for day centre meals in the Basildon district.
The rise in price for meals at day centres is 20p per meal - from £1.60 to £1.80. An article in the Echo suggested this rise was £2.
A separate article suggested the Basildon meals-on-wheels service - which was taken over by the WRVS at the start of the month - was to become a seven-day-a-week service for the first time.
Basildon Council has been providing a 365-day-a-year service for elderly and vulnerable members of the community for some years. We apologise for any confusion caused.
