Leaders of Rochford Angling Club are hoping to net permission from councillors to manage fishing facilities at the Rochford reservoir.
The reservoir, in Bradley Way, is owned and maintained by the council as a public open space with the angling club stewarding the fishing facilities.
The club's five-year deal with the council has now expired, but club officials are seeking a fresh five-year contract.
A decision will be made by councillors at Rochford District Council's policy and finance committee meeting on April 11.
