The widow of former headteacher Les Jones returned to Gable Hall School in Corringham on Friday to see a new service named in his honour.
Annette Jones and daughter Bethan were among guests at the Southend Road school as East Thurrock and Basildon MP Angela Smith officially opened the Les Jones Learning Resource Centre - he was head there from 1980 to 1994.
Although Friday's ceremony officially launched the centre, the 60-computer suite has been in use for some time and network manager Kevin Bassett said: "These computers are running all day long and many of the pupils are already experts."
