Vandals who strike at Kelvedon Hatch Village Hall in the future could find themselves caught on camera.
The village hall trust has applied to Brentwood Borough Council for permission to have CCTV cameras outside the building in School Road.
It is hoped that the move will deter youngsters from vandalising the centre.
