Rayleigh: Home plan in balance

Plans for a major new housing development in Rayleigh, turned down by Rochford District Coun-cil, could be decided by a Government inspector.

An appeal has been lodged by Countryside Properties over its plans for more than 120 homes on the Reads Nursery site in Rawreth Lane.

Councillors turned it down, against the advice of officers, because of concerns over the local infrastructure.
