Canvey: Ice cream man fined

A 14-year-old boy suffered head injuries after tumbling from a Mr Whippy ice-cream van as it swerved from side to side, a court heard.

Driver Raymond Davis, 56, was not aware of the 14-year-old boy being thrown from the rear bumper in St Agnes Drive, Canvey, Basildon Crown Court heard.

Davis, of Denham Road, Canvey, denied dangerous driving, which was accepted by the court. He pleaded guilty to careless driving and was fined £150, with five penalty points on his licence.
