Police are appealing for information after a car failed to stop at the scene of a road accident.
It happened in Harold Road, Clacton, where a red Vauxhall Corsa car, silver Ford Orion car and a blue Peugeot 206 car were parked facing the seafront.
A spokewoman for Essex Police said no-one was in any of the three vehicles.
She said: "A black Golf GTi came around the corner, colliding with the Corsa, which in turn hit the Orion and the Peugeot."
The spokeswoman said the driver of the Golf ran off from the scene, which happened at about 4.25pm on Sunday.
The man police want to trace was said to be between 5ft 9ins and 5ft 10s tall, with a sun-tanned complexion, short-cropped fair to mousey hair and was of stocky build.
He was also wearing a black T-shirt and light-coloured shorts.
