Southend United boss Rob Newman said his men were focused on scoring their first Third Division win of the new season over the weekend.
Blues travel to Oxford tomorrow, before taking on Cambridge at Roots Hall on Bank Holiday Monday (3pm).
And having seen his team take just one point from their first three games -- an opening day 2-2 draw at Hull City -- Newman said: "We need to get our first win over the weekend --it's as simple as that.
"First up are Oxford. I've told the players to focus on our away trip to Hull ahead of this game. We played very well up there and put in a performance which was good enough to pick up points away from home against any team in our division.
"And if we can reproduce that level of display we should be able to gain a positive result which will boost us ahead of the Cambridge fixture."
Blues are third from bottom in the early League table, while Oxford are sixth and Cambridge 14th.
Defender David McSweeney is still missing with a knee injury for Blues and striker Mark Rawle has an illness, but should recover.
Midfielder Ian Selley is expected to miss both games with a foot injury, which could open the door for fellow loan signing Jay Smith.
