Firefighters from Orsett have been at the ASDA Tilbury store, to promote the use of smoke alarms.
Station officer Barnie Musto tells John and Julie Berry, from South Ockendon, and their 11-year-old son Shaun about the benefits of having smoke alarms installed.
Crews were in the store's foyer. A spokesman said: "It is important that people not only fit alarms in their home, but fit them in the right places -- and remember to check that the batteries are working."
