A woman died today when her car ploughed into a tree.
The accident happened at about 6.20am today, on the A133 at Weeley, near to a Little Chef restaurant.
The car was spotted by an ambulance crew who were on their way to work.
Firefighters from Colchester and Weeley, ambulances from Harwich and Weeley and traffic police crews all attended. But the woman, who was trapped in the wreckage, was pronounced dead a short time later.
No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.
