Up to 400 rail enthusiasts were believed to be aboard a train which hit the buffers at Walton on the Naze station this afternoon.
About 30 were injured in the collision when the accident happened at 1.50pm.
At least one person was taken to hospital following the accident aboard the 'special' train which was travelling from Crewe to Clacton.
