Silver wedding couple Elaine and Michael Revell wanted to celebrate their special day but did not want presents from friends and family.
They wanted children to benefit from their happy day so they staged an open house for more than 200 and raised £1,200 for charity
The money will be used to help terminally-ill children, premature babies and youngsters who have been bereaved.
On Friday, the couple, who live in Bexhill Close, Clacton, handed over £800 to the Clacton St Helena Hospice Day Centre.
Another £400 will go to the Royal Free Neonatal Unit in London where their premature son, now 21-year-old Matthew, was cared for.
The silver anniversary party was held in a marquee and three adjoining gardens on the Martello Bay earlier in August.
The partygoers raised £803 and the Woolwich Call Centre in Clacton where Mrs Revell works put in another £401.
