Natalie, 13, from Panner's Bridge, Great Notley, put up a tent in four minutes and 29 seconds -quicker than other contestants at a record attempt held at Freeport designer shopping village, Braintree.
The details of the attempt will be sent off to the Guinness Book of Records to be acknowledged, but it is believed there is not a record for putting up a tent in the fastest time at the moment.
Members of Scout groups Fourth Braintree, First Great Notley and Cressing took part in the challenge on Sunday.
Natalie, of First Great Notley Scouts, said: "I didn't realise I had done it that quickly."
