Hundreds of Basildon shoppers flocked to their local Argos for a fundraising day on Saturday.
The store, in the Westgate Shopping Centre, along with other branches across the UK, conducted a fun day to raise cash for children's charity Barnados.
A face painting stall and a huge raffle were among the activities the public got involved in.
Kim Elliot, Basildon's sales manager, said the day was a success and estimated the store had raised in the region of £500. She said: "We are really pleased with the community for supporting this event."
