Burglars broke into a radio-controlled model shop for the second time, leaving the owners devastated.

The raid, at A1 Models in London Road, Lexden, was reported after two men were spotted smashing glass in a door to get in, just after 5am yesterday

David Wilde, 46, joint owner of the shop, said he and his business partner were "gutted" and "devastated" by the break-in, which follows a £20,000 burglary there last year.

Mr Wilde said it was too early to say the value of the items taken, which included model helicopter and car kits, but it could be more than £20,000.

One of the pair seen breaking into the shop was described as wearing a dark-hooded top, with a white stripe. Anyone with information is asked to call Colchester police on 01206 762212
