Skateboarders have been able to make use of new facilities after a skatepark was finally completed.
Equipment at the Dovercourt skate park, Low Road, was installed on Friday night and has been in use since.
Gerald Wallington-Hayes, chairman of Harwich Crime Prevention Panel, said the facilities including half-pipes, quarter banks and grind rails were being well used.
He said: "All the equipment is finally in place and it is being well-used and I'm extremely thankful that everything is done."
The skatepark will be officially opened on September 7 at 2.30pm at a ceremony attended by dignitaries and will include demonstrations from Southend-based skaters The Rampage.
