The ultimate one night stand is set to be offered up at Brentwood Theatre in the autumn after one of its headline acts received a top comedy award at the Edinburgh Festival.

In October the Shenfield Road theatre is set to host a two week professional programme entitled One Night Stands and staff are delighted that one of the featured acts has just won the BBC Talent New Comedy Award 2002.

Nina Conti, daughter of actor Tom, and her outrageous alter-ego, the Monkey from Jaipur, have gained critical and popular acclaim over the past year which has been capped by this latest award. They will be appearing in Brentwood on Friday October 25.

Other acts set to appear during the two week run are the National Theatre's Ken Campbell, Mark Lockyer, Eastern Angles and Sam and Cy.

Brentwood Theatre manager Mark Reed said they were delighted to have Nina booked in. He said: "It is a great bonus to us as an independent theatre to have such an attraction for our Autumn season."
