Police warned parents and newsagents in Shenfield to be on their guard after a 13-year-old paperboy was grabbed by a man who jumped from behind bushes and knocked him off his bike, trying to hit him.
The boy kicked his attacker and escaped, arriving home distressed but unhurt.
