When second round ties in the Hadleigh Carport Southend Borough Combination's Pete Simmonds Cup were staged at Eastwoodbury Lane two went to extra-time.
In one of them Weir Sports reached the semi-final with an amazing 7-3 victory over White Ensign 3rd netting no less than four goals in the extra period after Ensign had pulled back to 3-3 from a penalty kick 20 minutes from the end of normal play.
Shoebury Old Boys also needed the extra period to beat Southend Collegians 3-1 with two goals coming in the added time.
Sibar Sports found Little Theatre Club tough opposition and only clinched their 2-0 win with a late second goal. Battlesbridge made Shoebury Town fight all the way for their 2-1 success.
