The long-awaited Grays western bypass has opened to traffic.
Linking London Road and Devonshire Road, the new road is aimed at reducing the amount of traffic filtering through Grays town centre.
The new road - and London Road, east of its junction with Askews Farm - has a three-and-a-half tonne weight limit with heavy goods vehicles now being directed to the area via Lakeside.
