A traditional town regatta was given a revival much to the delight of Wivenhoe residents.
After a gap of ten years it was decided this, the jubilee year, was the ideal time to reinstate the Wivenhoe Town Regatta as an annual event.
Fishing smacks, Wivenhoe one design dinghies and traditional yachts all took part in the day of races, drawing a large crowd of local people.
Action from the Wivenhoe Town Regatta
"It was good to see so many people from the town had come out for the day," said Richard Barnard, of the town regatta committee.
"Lots of people were walking up and down the quay watching the races."
The regatta was held to raise money for the Jubilee Sailing Trust, a charity which helps people with disabilities enjoy sailing holidays.
